+ What are the demographics of the students and staff?

Venture is comprised of 95% low income, 33% English Language Learners, and 25% Special Education. Student body demographics: 60% Latino, 8% Am. In., 25% African American, 5% Caucasian, 2% 2 or more races.

+ What's the average class size?

There are 25-30 students per class, with opportunities for small group instruction. Typically, there are 2 teachers to every 15 students, with some classes 3 teachers to 10 students.

+ Do you provide technology to students?

Computers are available for students to use in classrooms, either an IE Chromebook or a Lenovo.

+ Can I have a tour of the building?

+ Do you offer bus services?

Yes, in addition to other accommodations on a case-by-case basis, as well as free bus/train passes for public transit.

+ Do you offer free lunch?

+ Do you offer off-campus lunch?

Yes, for qualifying juniors and seniors.

+ Do you provide special education services?

Yes.

+ Do you provide therapeutic supports for students, such as occupational therapy, speech, etc?

Yes.

+ Do you offer students a way to make up credit?

Yes, we offer credit recovery during our summer school.

+ How do Internships work?

First, students take a Career Seminar class that teaches them professional skills and helps them explore their interests. They have opportunities to get out in the community and learn from working professionals. From there, they are able to seek out an internship if they choose to do so!

+ What extracurricular/elective classes does Venture offer?

Middle School: physical education, art, coding, project-based learning

High School: art, design, health, gym, advanced placement art, recording, filmmaking, computer science, and a variety of other core content electives.

+ What is the graduation rate for Venture Academy students?

We have a 93% graduation rate.
